I have a toe nail that is totally split in half downwards....
( second toe )
I thought it would grow out but it seems to be growing in two halves
Anyone know why?

One side of the nail is moveable...the other isn't.

I was wondering if I could do a thin overlay with L&P? Mainly so it wouldn't keep catching on things.

or is it not advisable? if so why?

The reason I am asking is one to help myself....and two if I ever came across this in a client I would know what to do.

Would the same apply to a fingernail?

Thanks x

I have had this with one of my big toe nails,
reason plain and simple i damaged it from been clumsy lol,
i applied L&P in a thin overlay and it felt loads better and just grew out back to normal,
yes the same would apply to a finger (but kept fairly short) its much better than it catching on things, hth

Thanks for that Lou...

Thank goodness it will grow out again! It seemed like it was growing that way

I was wondering if the wobbly side of the nail would lift the L&P and cause more damage in the long run so I am glad it can be done....it's such a nuisance!

well that was a nice short and sweet thread...!!!!!:lol::lol: ( should have blogged it lol )
