hi my 2 thumbnails have split half way down my nail and i have a sort of ridge from my cuticle to the free edge. Can anyone advise me on what to do with it

Have you a photo we can see?

sorry no i dont

This sounds like furrows to me hun, they can be coused by truma or by age.xhth

furrows .lines from the matrix to the free edge. A single furrow may be congenital or caused by injury to the matrix.Multiple furrows are usually caused systemically.treat with care as the furrow may be very thin.dont over buff to try to smooth the ridge sa this will cause splitting.x hth

You can repair the splits with a silk/fabric wrap to hold it secure and then apply acrylic as an overlay, but don't have your nails too long as this will add pressure to the break hth
