You can get white, natural, clear and even coloured tips....there are some with wells, some with reduced wells and some with no well at all...then there is pre etched. There is also different styles in shape...some have a very curvy shape and others not so.

I use Creative tips, and they do

Performance...no well..deep c curve...no shine to remove...natural or white

Velocity...reduced well...deep c curve...natural, clear or radical french

Eclipse...winged well...square c curve...great for flat nail beds...natural or clear

Formation...full well...gentle c curve...natural or clear

hope this helps x

White tips offer an instant french look, but as the nails grow you will need a white powder or gel to rebalance.

Natural tips are generally used for a full set when using a white (or soft white or natural) product over the top to create your finished look.

Clear tips are generally used with glitters so that the sparkle can be seen from the underside as well.

Obviously there are people who use clear or natural tips all the time, and there are those who only use white tips. The problem with only using white tips is you are limited in what you can create for your client. So, if a client were to come in and say she wanted long nails that looked like natural nails you are in a pickle if you only have white tips and clear product....... Do you see what I mean??

Does that help?

sorry if i sound thick but what does it mean by no well? does that mean little or no blending??

Why not ring round and ask for some samples & have a play! :).

I use Millenium Nails and Pro Impressions and i think they're great. These are some websites that i got some samples from for starters and their prices are reasonable. Have fun!

Thanks for the replys they have really helped me one more question though and please remember im very very new to this !!!!:)

If i was to use tips with no wells hows does that work?? do you not have a step where the natural nail and tip meet so would i still need to blend??

Im going to buy a different selection of tips so i can practice but its nice to get advice first.

Is there any books or something i can read about different tips and how they are applied/blended?

Again thanks for all your help
