Unless you're hiding out in a corner of a rainforest in the deepest, darkest depths of the island from hit TV show Lost, there's no way you have avoided the Olympics and, if you're watching the Olympics, you will have noticed that athletes' nails are getting almost as much attention as their medal counts.

The lovely people at CND have launched their official Olympic nail designs and, because they're that kind, they've shared their secrets with us. So, if you fancy getting your Olympic nail groove on, follow these step by step guides to creating medal-worthy nails.

Until then...geek on!

Step-by-Step

OLYMPIC SPIRIT (Picture 1)

The easiest way to use CND Additives is straight out of the jar, burnished into CND Shellac™ Power Polish™! Additives and Shellac offer unique, one-of-a kind looks that are so easy and quick to create.

STEP 1: P.E.P. the natural nail (for details see our CND Shellac Step-by-Steps).

STEP 2: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Base Coat and cure for 10 seconds in the CND UV Lamp.

STEP 3: Apply two thin layers of Shellac Cream Puff. Cure each layer for two minutes.

STEP 4: Dip the tip of a dry oval brush into Additives Yellow and burnish it into the sticky Shellac on the side of the nail, creating the desired background design. Repeat with red and blue.

STEP 5: Mix Additives with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol (to create a watercolor paste) on a mixing tray.

STEP 6: Dip the end of a piece of ⅛" rubber tubing into the Additives Blue paste and stamp a circle onto the nail. Perfect the circle by dipping a detail brush into the Additive paste to fill in the lines as needed. Lock for 10 seconds.

STEP 7: Clean the tubing with IPA, and repeat with the rest of the colors until you create the Olympic ring design. Cure for two minutes.

STEP 8: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Top Coat and cure for two minutes.

STEP 9: Wipe with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove top film.

Fabulous haha! Amazing work from CND as usual xxx

CND/S2 are the only nail brand/company asked for and allowed officially in the Olympic village to perform nail services. S2 will be posting all the images on FB. Do take a look. They are using Shellac and MINX exclusively.
