Need a name for my business.

Hey geeks.
I am currently renting a beauty room a couple off days a week in between my full time job, Treatments i offer are facials,waxing,eye lash and brow tinting,make up and sienna x spray tanning. I am only doing this part time at the moment but hoping to go full time next yr sometime after i do the creative l&p course

I'd like to start doing Tan parties in the mean time but finding it hard to think of a name to advertise under. Please help ??

Do you want a name connected to yourself or a name that is unrelated to trade under?

Perhaps something like "Escape" or "Indulge" or "Beauty by ??????":hug:

My best advise to anyone deciding on a salon name is to pick something simple, distinctive and memorable. Most of my business comes from word of mouth and/or internet searches. Names like Tan 2 U aren't going to be helpful because they could be misconstrued into Tan to U, Tan two U, Tan 2 You, Tan Too You, etc... making it difficult to find you.

I know that lots of names sound fun and quirky (although personally, I think that anything that uses text speak like "2u" sounds a bit tacky), why don't you just go with a name that says what you do.

The Tan Party Company
Party Tans Co.

Think of how well this has worked for The White Company - who started off only selling white items!

Separate out your general beauty business from your home business brand - you are offering different things, so the only way you can cover both is if you go for something so generic that it won't make you stand out.

I like City Glow hun! I've never heard anyone called that before and its not one i'd forget either. Also if you offered other services city glow could encompass any of them. I do like the tan party company too though. It is so hard deciding! I also think its good to come with a nice tag line too, not that i got any good ideas right now lol!! Good luck deciding xx

Hi I've just registered my business name and made sure i checked that i could get the domain name. Ive checked City Glow for you and .com is taken but you can still get .co.uk also City Glow is not registered at companies house if you wanted to go Ltd. All this is worth checking as potential clients could get someone else when searching on the web for you, or the owner of the name could insist that you change it. Your strapline should include 'tan' so you can be found in related searches. Good luck.

I was actually taking to someone at work today about names being registered etc but was not sure how to check it out.

I have came up with two tag lines

1. City Glow ... a sunless tan brought to you in the city
OR just
2. City Glow Spary Tanning Parties
