Hiya

I opened my beauty salon 7 weeks ago and since i opened i must have been asked every other day how much my nail extensions were - this is one of the only treatments i DO NOT offer - reason being, ive never trained in nails (except natural nails) and im the only beauty therapist.

I would like to offer this service but do not have enough time at the minute to put into training and mastering the skills needed as im working 6/7 days a week.

I want to look into either renting a table to someone who is already established in nails or employing someone on a part time basis but have no idea where to start - could anybody out the offer me some much needed advice

Thank u so much:hug:

Had you thought about taking someone else on who pays you a percentage of her business earnings. You could either buy in the products and get a higher percentage or let her bring her things with her and then you take less.

If you employ someone, there are a lot of issues to deal with ie: tax, NI etc and if you dont have a lot of time it can be a mine field. However if you rent it can be hard on the person coming in as they have to take a while establishing themselves, so not earning straight away.

Just my view, hth

Hi Hun,
I too would suggest the percentage basis, you may find a tech who has a client base to bring along, or they may have to start from scratch and bulid up. It would be the fairest option for both of you. I also would look for someone to bring in their own products, so if they leave and you have to find someone new, you are not stuck with products eg another brand that a new tech may not want to use.
Get advertising....it can be good for both of you.
Good luck.
Lotsa luv x

have you found someone to do nails for you

Percentage or rental would be best for you IMO. You don't know anything about nails/enhancements (and there's a LOT to know, lol!) so if you employed someone who wasn't able to deliver, you would have the responsibility for her and her clients, but not the knowledge to deal with it, that could be disastrous as I have seen in other salons.

Try to get someone with an already established or growing clientele, then you can both feed off each other.

HTH, Good Luck!
