I am a sef taught nail technician, I did beauty in college but this didnt give me a qualification in nail tech.
Is the only way for me to become a nail technician by doing a course and getting a qualification? or is there some other way I can work as a nail technician?
Iv recenlty started sculpting as i prefer it to tips.
Im 22 so i dont think I can do an apprentiship.

any info would be appreciated :)

Why wouldnt you want to take classes to learn hun?
there are sooo many products and techniques and new ones all the time surely learning how to get the best from the products is a good thing yes ?

If you really want to be a nail technician then do a course. Simples. There is so much more to being a nail tech then just doing nails. A good course will teach you the necessary anatomy, about the products you are working with, contra indications, over exposure, working practice.... and no matter how good you think you may be now it will only make you better. So rather then looking for a shortcut why not look at it as an investment and do a course, it will be worth so much more then a bit of paper to you in the long run.
You will find it very difficult to gain insurance to work in a salon without a qualification too- if not impossible.

thanks :)

Its not really the anatomy and contra indications etc im worried about as I studied this whilst doing manicures/pedicures in college.

maybe a course would be a good idea then, theres always room to improve :)

Most definitely!
I belive and others will agree that being a nail tech is something that there will always be things to learn , but it is a good idea to learn it the right way :)
And I know a very good nail tech there in northampton who teaches really well! ! :)
