Hi everyone, totally new to this site but it seems fab live in Edinburgh and a friend told me about nail geek so thought I'd ask if anyone knows anything about nail separation from the nail plate?what causes it and what will repair it!does it also cause bacterial infections? hope someone has some information thanks lily
:idea::rolleyes::lol:

Hiya ... This is called Onycholysis and overfilling can cause this...as can nails that are too long and under pressure....amoungs other things....it is possible to get an infection with Onycholysis....so its best to keep clean and shorten the nail as much as possible

Thia might help... Onycholysis. DermNet NZ

Hi Angie, thanks for that advise going to check that sight out,do you think it could be to do with the clients health also because i'v been doing the clients nails for 7years and the is the first time i have seen this!!

Yes health can play a part and if the nails are weakened through age or general health they can de-bond from the plate.

A change of product can also sometimes cause onycholysis. for instance changing form L&P to gel. Gel shrinks much more than L&P as it hardens therefore the shrinkage can squeeze a thin nail plate right out of the grooves of the nail bed.
