nsi sculpture white gel very thick

i have just brought some nsi which sculpture gel and i know it's suppose to be thick but this is like icing. I tried to sculpture on a tip to practice but i use couldn't get it level i had sky slopes everywhere if you know what i mean. Is there a way of doing this? I did try a small amount at a time then cure for abit then add some more on but i just can't get it smooth please tell me what i am doing wrong.
