Hi there guys!!
I will try to cut a long story short..
I qualified in L&P Tip & Overlay nails, then gave up doing nails due to my allergy..
I LOVE doing nails and so I tried Creative's Brisa gels and thought I was ok so I did the Brisa conversion and had the products for my salon..
After doing a few sets, I realised I was still allergic.. :irked:
ANYWAY, after GRRRRRREEEAAAT advice from fellow geeks I have soooooo gladly found out that as suggested by Nailzoo, and Geeg, it must actually be the nail glue that has been giving me the chest problems, not the actual acrylic products!!
I have since worked VERY VERY careful with the glue (I have purchased brush-on glue, applied it precisely, wiped off the excess from the top of the nail when it has stuck so that there is no glue on top that would be filed..
And WAH LAH!!.... I have been fine doing the last few sets of nails!!..
Even competed in the newcomers comp at NEC Monday and I am totally fine.. No chest/sinus problems as I normally would have!! :green: :green: :green:
Can't believe it.. It simply must be the glue.. After totally ruling it out as the cause all of this time!!!
Anyway, due to l&p being quicker etc to work with.. I want to also do l&p.. BUT I rent a room above a hairdressers and do mostly beauty treatments and so did not really want the stench of l&p lingering all around the salon, as some people find it off-putting if they are having a relaxing treatment..
I brought the palms extra odourless liquid, and a little trial pack to try at the NEC show.. BUT, I tried it and it is runny and thin, and needs to be activated by uv light anyway, so I doubt very much that I will actually use it now!..
I REALLY want to start doing my own nails with popits also.. Can't wait for that!!! I know that they work better and easier with l&p too you see..
Basically, I was wondering if there is a 'catch' with all odourless liquids or if anyone knows of a good one?
If not, I think I will just use regular l&p in my salon anyway now that I know I can focus on nails more again... And can experiment loads with popits too, as I am getting more and more inspired seeing how nice Hiba's popits nails keep looking!.. Especially how she had them at the Birmingham show on Monday! They were lovely!..
Woo hoo, popits!!
