Hi,

I've just come out to work at a Spa in Cyprus. My boss wants me to start doing gel nails as they are very popular here. I am trained in NSI back in the UK and have been doing nails for about 18months so still consider myself as an improver.

He has instructed me I will be using Bio Sculpture products (which I have never used before) and is refusing to send me on the official training course because of the cost.

He has no experience himself of the industry and is not willing to listen to my or other therapists advice. Any suggestions on what I can do? - apart from get on a plane back to the UK!

As an example of the standards here, there are a grand total of 3 worn out nail files in the nail salon that are used for all Mani's and Pedi's for all clients!!!!! Help!

Sounds like a shambles to me. Tell him you can't work effectively without training nor the tools to do the job.

If you're not happy and he won't listen to reason then don't stay .... you can't expect to have a job in 3 months anyway if he goes on in the same way and with the same attitude. To my way of thinking you have nothing to loose by speaking your mind.

Yes, I would agree....if you can't get training on the product - and it is quite different to apply and use....start looking around and get out.....if he's that bull-headed and un-informed you will be wasting your time and energy....

Cheers
Bethanne
