Right im still on the llok out for organic skincare range as an added service in salon has anyone used Pure Bliss or Essentially Yours as i think imdown to these 2 xx

Hi, i know that you are asking about women's organic skincare, but there is a new men's specific organic range being launched next month by Patricia Milton Cosmetics called ERGO SUM. Could be good for retail??

I'm not a skingeek, but the "O" word caught my eye.

I'm just curious why the need for "Organic" and how do you know if the product A) actually is B) what exactly it means and C) who determines it's Organic AND by what means is it determined AND who polices it to ensure that it is?

I only ask because in the nail industry, "Organic" is a misleading marketing ploy and applies to just about everything since organic simply means that it contains Carbon and guarantees nothing else. So consumers get something that they 'THINK' is natural when in fact it's not.

On another note.. I have tried Organic skin products for my Rosacea, and 1) found no relief 2) discovered that they contained ingredients that were well known irritants and were NOT "natural" by any stretch of the imagination.

Just wondered?

I was under the impression that in order to call a product 100% organic it would have no preservative in it??? so surely you would have to use this up the day it was manufactured. I also think there are companies out there that confuse you with this word.
If there are products out there that are using a totally organic preservative then I bow out gracefully!!!! but I didnt think there was one!!!!!!!!

To my knowledge there are no totally organic ranges out there. You only have to have one organically sourced ingredient in the product for it to be classified as organic. As you say, no preservatives and the product would go off very quickly.

However, I do look for products that are paraben and SLS free as these are known irritants. I have tried Essentially Yours and the products were very nice but they did go off quickly and as I don't retail very much (I'm mobile) I needed fresher stuff to take with me.

I use Eve Taylor because at the least the products are paraben/SLS free and for the most part are naturally sourced. I also take in Kobashi which have products with at least one or more organically grown ingredient. This range isn't big enough for a complete range of treatments but I like the facial oils and the hydrolats and I use the Rose and Lavender face creams in my holistic facials.

The word 'Organic' has many meanings and it's often misused. How it's meaning is applied to food is not the same as it's applied to products and materials, where it would, probably, just mean 'carbon based'.

Hey im quite sure some antioxidents can be used in all natural products to prolong shelf life^^

Think they are rosemary extract, vitamin e and grapefruit seed extract
if you are looking into ranges that are fully natural its best to check for these ingredients.
Only reason I know is that I have been researching quite a bit into natural ingredients for my own personal skin care concoctions lol need to do a bit more looking into but im sure its along those lines

hth somewhat
Xx
