Hi geeks

I employ a girl on mw £6.08 on 16hr contract I want to increase hours to full time as its been as and when I need her and she had been doing a lot of overtime lately.

She is a junior.

Can I pay her £10k per year for a 38hr week ?

Or does min wage stop me doing this???

X

U have to met the minimum hour wage so if this works out as less than the minimum hourly rate then no you can't if it's more then yes you can hope that makes sense

If you only want to pay her £10,000 a year then:-

10,000 / 52 = 192.30

192.30 / 6.08 = 31.6

So you'll have to have her work only 31 hours, not 38.

Don't forget you have to pay employers NI on top.

it sounds like it would be easier to pay her a wage rather than a salary...that way it might be easier to work out how much you need to pay her and it will allow for the flexibility of working different hours each week.
