Hi, since I got pregnant I'm March last year, gel polish just won't stay on my nails. I buff and use a dehydrator but they're just peeling as soon as the next day. Is this normal? And is there anything I can do about it? X

Hi, i had the same problem, my son was 2 and half before it stopped. The lady that did my nails at the time said there wasnt anything i could do, it was just hormones x

Oh that is so unfair :'( it drives me mad. I'm a biter so just want to have nice nails from time to time x

Only thing I can suggest is try acrylic or gel underneath it xx

Congratulations on your pregnancy :)
Just wait till your baby is born, I noticed my clients not all but a few had the same issue from one month into they had lifting of gel and they almost flaked off and never happened before .
After baby born their nails are fine gel lasts and no issues!

However while pregnant their natural nails were amazing and she just painted polish over them. Looked good :)

Problem is I had my baby last November lol. My nails have never been the same since. I like to have gel on them because I bite them and this is the only thing stops it and give them time to grow. At first I thought it could be because I wasn't capping correctly with them being so short, but they are lifting from the bottom and side rather than the top x

Ok then try applying your base gel coat then dip or sprinkle acrylic powder over your gel base then cure then carry on as usual. Just see how or if that helps

I've had a few clients with this problem. For the first one I just prepped her nails with a slightly more coarse buffer, used 2 base coats, and that actually did the trick. But what I've found to be the very best solution is Gelish Structure Gel. It is a miracle product. I highly recommend it.

I have a couple of clients with peeling nails and did some research and took the plunge and bought IBX and can honestly say it's the best thing I did. The gels were chipping within a few days prior to using IBX now they get 3 weeks

I must try that thank you. I've been doing base coat and sculpture gel for strength and still having the peel off situation x

I'll have a look into that thank you x

Hi all. I use gelish and have been looking into the structure gel as I have this problem myself and would also like to
Offer to clients. Is there a difference between Ibx and the structure gel? Or do they pretty much do the same thing? X

Babybird54, they not the same thing.
Structure gel is gel which you can build the nail up with, while IBX is a nail treatment for peeling or brittle nails. Once applied you can apply gel polish over the IBX and it should last longer due to the natural nail being that it stronger.

I have had amazing results with IBX on clients who have had damage due to poor acrylics or just weakened nails from ill health . Def with the investment !

Thank fir the clarification, will look into it. Does a tech need specialist training for it? X

I don't know in your country but in mine the rep comes to your salon to do a workshop with your initial purchase basically so yes I assume so. It's just a half day or so not long
