Hi all

I don't know whether any of you read the Times at the weekend but there was an article comparing the techniques used by a British Beauty Guru vs. a Facialist to the Stars in the UK.

The UK Guru made reference to a pH pencil that reveals if your skin is too acid or alkaline and another tool that gives a "hydrating reading" which establishes how elastic the skin is.

Has anyone come across either of these and, if so, any information or ideas where I can get them from?

Thanks

Jane

Hello Jane
yes I read that article.
And I have come across the Acid/Alkaline pen, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy one if it's the one I'm thinking of.
I went to a 'Botox Party' at a friend's house, and the therapist who was also a nurse, had a pen thingy which she used to place a dot on everyone's skin ( on their forehead if I remember right ). Then you waited 5 mins or so and the dot would change colour to indicate the acidity or alkalinity of your skin.
Well TBH . . . all the dots looked around the same colour to me! various subtle shades of khaki/brown . . . it was like the emperor's new clothes though, with everyone saying 'ooh' and 'aah' and 'wow!' as if the colours were all completely different!
So - no - I wouldn't buy one if this IS what she was referring to.
