what is the difference between NVQ2 and VTCT?!

Looking into college courses and cant find the difference between the two!

VTCT is the awarding body just like city and guilds

So when choosing a college it does not matter if NVQ or VTCT as i get the same qualification at the end and learn the same treatments?

Its usually units towards an NVQ, so it shouldn't matter what the awarding body is as long as the course is an NVQ. for example you can get a VTCT nvq2 in beauty therapy and a VTCT level 2 in nails. the nails is only an extention or part of an nvq but the Beauty is an NVQ, does that make sense?

the course im looking into is described as vtct beauty therapy level 2 - so i guess im pretty safe with that description

No I would just double check that it is an NVQ in case its just some units towards an NVQ
