im a newly qualified technician but seem to be unable to get a job due to lack of experience. unfortunatley I cannot afford a car or learn to drive. does anyone know the best way to get experience.

Would working from home be an option....?

Also..what about going to these salons that are saying you need more experience and asking if they would take you on for 6 months to gain experience on Saturdays only and you will work for nothing...i know we all need wages but if its just 1 day a week...and you are not earning anything at the mo anyway....it gets your foot in the door...shows your willing and gets you that experience that you need.

I'll give it a try, im lacking a lot of self confidence and im a little bit scared!
I cant work from home because I have a little doggie!

Get practicising on friends and family. Make sure you charge enough to cover your products and a little bit of money for yourself. Don't give your services away for free!

First month I practised for free on my own, family and friends hands. After that I started to charge people just for materials until time I was sure my nails are build in correct way, stay more than one week (!) and look preety good.
First month it means one set daily, I was determinated...haha

A few times I damage my sister and best friend nails using a file in incorrect way, I just didn't feel it...that can happen at the beginning, so taking money and demaging nails its little bit no fair....
