Hey everyone!

Some of you may know that I started another business recently mainly selling children's clothes via party plan, with a view to do more in the way of pamper parties & craft parties in the near future.

This has been going pretty well so far but me & my friend have also been looking for premises.

We had a look at a former restaurant a couple of weeks ago which gave us the idea of having a child friendly coffee shop aswell. This particular unit (over 3 floors) fell through but has given us lots of ideas & possibilities.

Anyway, (stop waffling Sarah...) we are looking at another property on Tuesday which is also set over 3 levels so lots of scope.

The whole idea is to have a 1 stop child friendly shop, bit like a 'Child's Wonder Emporium'.

We have a pretty good idea of what we want to do but of course, it's the mums who matter & doing what they want. So, for the mums & dads amongst us (and those with youngsters in the family) what would you like to see in a child friendly retail & coffee shop environment?

Any input appreciated :green:

Well the other day my mum and myself went to a pub place for a meal with my two year old.

Attached to the pub was a Wacky Warehouse for the children to play in.
Now we went in the there after our very stressful meal with my very bored and very energetic two year old.

He let off steam and it did the trick....but it would have been even better if I could have sent him in there while we had our meal....on this occasion anyway.

The problem was he had to be there under supervision of a parent/guardian.

So to my 'mums' suggestion

Have a supervised creche....even if it is with the coffee shop attached so those children who like to see 'mum/parent etc' can still see them but can play and be amused while the stressed out 'mum' can have a peaceful coffee and cake

I think a craft area for children is a great idea with a book corner too....

And a girls Princess Party or a boys Suited and Booted party area would be great too....cash-in on the themed party and mums can go in the coffee shop area and put any surplus children in the creche area

You have a fantastic idea there....and I love the name 'Children's Wonder Emporium'
A one-stop place for children's fun, entertainment and shopping!
What more could a parent want?

I wish you every success with your venture xxxx

A cage with rubberised bars

sorry hun, i couldn't resist, i wish you the best of luck

Hi
I notice you are in Felixstowe, I live in ipswich and think its a great idea, we don't have enough of those sorts of things, I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old and there doesn't seem to be that many places that cater for the two ages.
You are very brave specially in this climate.
I wish you all the luck in the world, I presume you are looking in felixstowe as there is nowhere like that there.

Hi
I notice you are in Felixstowe, I live in ipswich and think its a great idea, thanks, the feedback we have had so far has been really good :) we don't have enough of those sorts of things, I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old same here and there doesn't seem to be that many places that cater for the two ages.
You are very brave specially in this climate. Not sure brave is the right word to use. One minute we're all excited, the next we're pooping ourselves . It is going to be a HUGE undertaking if we go ahead with it.
I wish you all the luck in the world, I presume you are looking in felixstowe as there is nowhere like that there. Yes we are, the shop we have our eye on is in the main bit of Hamilton Road, opposite what was Woolies, so the location is soooo perfect (but pricey, gulp!)

We have a couple of sales events coming up in the next week or two so have chance to ask more peeps for their input. Thought I would have had more replies on here by now, but oh well...

These are the questions we've come up with so far. Anyone think of anything else to add?

Retail Shop
1. Do you think Felixstowe needs a children’s clothes shop?
2. How often do you buy children’s clothes?
3. On average how much do you spend each time?
4. What age range would you like to see?
5. What would make you buy from a particular shop?
6. What puts you off going in a shop?
7. If you have girls, do they like jewellery?
8. If you have girls, do they like having their nails painted?
9. Apart from clothes what else would you like to be able to buy?

Coffee Shop
1. Would a child friendly coffee shop appeal to you?
2. What would you like the coffee shop to have to keep little ones amused?
3. What sandwich choices would you like to see?
4. What other food items would you like to see on the menu?
5. What other facilities would you like us to provide?
