Hi

My name is Melissa I am new to the forum, I have a couple of questions

I am currently training to be a nail technician at college (part time VTCT certificate)

I am currently learning with the millenium acrylic system!, I personally dont like the white nail tips and think the white acrylic on the natural tip looks more natural. The only thing is my course does not cover the coloured acrylics just the clear, is this a hard thing to master? when you have applied the white acrylic do you have to wait for this to dry before applying the pink or do you blend it in while wet so if that sounds a silly question

Also when i am qualified in feb what kind of prices can i charge mobile (i live in tyne & wear north east england)? on average how many clients do you mobile techs have each week

sorry for the long post

Thanks
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the site hun x

First when I started, I was only shown white tips & natural tips with an overlay of pink.
I then went on to complete my foundation course with Creative Nail Design and they taught me how to do what we call 'Pink & Whites'.

You do not have to wait for the white to set before you apply your pink, but I do, I tend to do all 10 whites, then go back & do all the pink.
You do not blend the pink & white together as you would not then get a crisp smile line. You apply you pink bead into zone 2 just a little above the smile and pat & press into place so that it just butts upto the white at the smile, then smooth over with your brush.
Why don't they teach coloured acrylics?
Perhaps when you've done your college course, you should then look at doing another course to cover all aspects with a manufacturer...Millennium do offer training, as do many other manufacturers & you'll find loads of info on here.

Here's a great tutorial to give you some ideas

I suggest you also use the search option available at the top of the page to look for things too.
