can i ask what are your most popular colours for shellac?
also, are people tending to go mostly for manis, pedis or both ? and do they tend to choose standard or luxury treatments?
if mobile, how do you work out the shellac removal after 14 days - do you retail the little pads?
currently on mat leave, but plan to add to my treatments list once i start up again early next year
many thanks x

Seriously I find I have been using ALL the 12 beautiful colours in the Shellac UV colour coat system pretty evenly. The most used is the French (as always) and Fedora (the dark lush 'pulp fiction' colour) ...Every woman who loves a lusty red loves Wildfire and for a summery hot pink it has to be Tutti Frutti.

I think CND have been really clever at choosing the first initial 12 colours and I have not had one client say that there was nothing they liked. Clients also are kept excited by new colours that will be joining the initial 12 later in the year. I love holding something back for clients to look forward to.

I have seen ranges of coloured gels that maybe bigger but have a very poor selection of colours ... wishy washy and boring. The Shellac initial 12 are vibrant and lush.

In the salon we do equal amounts of manis and pedis until summer when pedicures overtake the manicures. We only do luxury treatments so the clients do't have a choice about that.

Shellac removal can be done either way. I sell the client the wraps and the D-solve and we get most (if they can reach their feet) to do the removal themselves.

Hope you are enjoying your new little one and good luck with your business next year.

hi geeg,
thanks for the reply .. i guess its best to have all angles covered, will probably order the kit if still available and some new colours when they are released .. little one not arrived yet, lol ( due early sept) was advised to take early mat leave as have had few complications, i was really reluctant as had several weddings booked and didnt want to let anyone down, but i had to follow my doctors orders and i have thankfully managed to pass the bookings on to another mua

i was really excited to try out the shellac and to be able to offer the french to my brides, and coloured shellac to the bridesmaids etc, i had generated lots of interest and was happily working out my prices/ packages etc when told to take early mat leave so it was a bit of an anti climax, lol but baby comes first .. i will just have to try and be a little patient, at least i will have all the new colours to look forward to !

Glad to hear everything is going fine for you.

The one bit of advice I will give you is to keep in touch with your supplier, because when the next shipment of Shellac lands, it will be first come first served and it will fly out before you can blink. S2 already have 4 shipments in the pipeline to meet demand (unbelievable) so just keep an eye out for availability.

Enjoy the summer .. September will be here before you know it.
