Hi,

I been asked to do a princess/pamper party for some teenagers about age 13ish. I am qualified crative nail tech but not a fully qualified beauty therapist. This may sound like stupid question but I'm wondering how far I can go with it if I do mini manicure/pedicure paint nails can I say add coloured hair extensions or basically do anything with hair or makeup add glitter tattoos, etc if i am not qualified beauty therapist? just wondering im assuming insurance wont cover sorry prob stupid question but id just like to make them a bit special and do more than just paint their nails?? and i was maybe going to ask my niece to help out as shes good at hair but not a qualified hairdresser.

any advice appreciated. i am going to make up gift bags with various things in im sure thats ok

also do those of you who do it get parents to sign a form of consent for treatments?

Hi

I believe you have to be qualified in hairdressing to do hair treatments. The same with make-up and manicures/pedicures.

Oh and don't forget you will need consent forms filled in from the parents.

hi, i do kids parties. i do nail art, glitter tattoos, make up and glitter hairspray. I am only qualified in nails and tanning. I send a letter to parents getting conf that they are happy for the above treatments and whether their kids have any allergies etc. the gift bags go down a treat, i put in mini lip gloss, mini varnish, nail file and bracelet and then a discount voucher for their mums. its a good idea to take music with you and i also take a chocolate fondue set which keeps the other kids occupied while your painting nails. argos have a fab pink one for only 9.99 - hope that helps x

thanks thats great info i am quite looking forward to it i'd have loved to have had one of these parties as a kid! miss star what wording do i need on consent form is it ok just to type one up myself? maybe put it at the botomf of the information leaflet im going to make up to tel them whats included in party and price etc?

my consent form is as follows -
I Mr/Mrs ....... give permission for my daughter ...... to have beauty treatments at ....... birthday party to inlcude nail art, polish, make up,glitter spray and glitter tattoos on the XXth of XXX 09. My daughter does/does not have any allergies (please indicate and list below if any)

Signed (parent/guardian)

Pretty much what Kirsty has said!

You should check with your insurance just to make sure your ok to offer the treatments, better safe than sorry!

Goodluck with your party!!

thanks so much guys thats great the wording is a lot shorter than i thought so thats good ishort and to the point i'll phone insurance tommorrow check what im able to do. brilliant thank you so much. :)

now im thinking thw girls are about 13/14 years and im useless with ages and what they like so i suppose i better not go to girly they be like im too old for that! know wot teenagers are like i'll need to have a think what i could do nd put in gift bags. mocktails be a good idea eh!

What about taking a karoke machine along or perhaps find out if the host has a game console and borrow a dance mat or invest in something to use for that maybe?

I don't think you can go too girly though! It could be a Diva Party instead of Princess Party. Have some fizzy apple juice or something in plastic champange glasses, maybe have a look at getting some cheap headbands that you could write their names on with glitter pens.

Perhaps think of a theme and go with that. Find out what the host is into and try and do something along the lines of that, the invites or something.

thats great ides ai had thought about the champagne glasses you get those plastic ones in tesco karaoke mchines a good idea or they could decorate the champagne glasses with glitter pens to keep as their own maybe. i was thinking grease but i'll have to ask if they know about grease maybe too young for that
