What advice could you give me as today is my first official day as the salon manager! would be greatly appreciated

Hi.
Best advice i can give after doing it for many years is be firm but always fair and be yourself!!

In our industry we tend to be close with co workers which sometimes makes it hard to be a manager and a work mate,but as long as your all honest and you deal with things fairly and professionally all will work out.

Thank you for that I totally agree about the friend thing but aslong as people understand im doing my job and its not personal it should be fine!

Do what's right for the business and at times you'll need to attach your self from your emotions when it comes to staff. Staff is the hardest part of management. Be assertive and trust your decisions Good luck!
