Fibreglass Tech for over 12 years now.............
I first started offering Fibreglass and Silk in the Shop I work in, because health and saftey regulations prohibited me from using L&P.........
City of London has strict ruling on this..........
So I stuck with General Fibreglass/Resin and also offer Gel too.............
L&P is available for my privat clients at my home...........
General Fibreglass bonus points are..............
Easy natural nail overlays, natural looking and invisible.........very thin, but still strong.
No odour, so it can be used in any Salon........
You will still need good ventilation, just because you can't smell vapour doesn't mean it isn't there.............
Less dust, as you only have to buff the finished layer lightly..........
Instant polymerization............When it has dryed its polymerised......
End of the polymerisation chain.........
Quick to use on repairs, like little tears or snags in nails..........
Soak off time is 10 Minutes in warm acetone..............
Least likely to cause sensitivity, they are the the bottom of the sensitivity ladder............
Minus points for general Fibreglass......
As it is an EC Resin system it is not as durable in water............. over time, it can become brittle with over use in water.............So I wouldn't offer this say to a hairdresser, who uses Shampoos and chemicals, unless they are prepared to use Solar oil like the bible and gloves if possible...........After a few weeks growth time, Curling of the natural nail can occure..............
But I use Fabric# system now....and it is the closest any Fibreglass system has so far , ever come to L&P look and durability...........
Including the More Than White forever french look...........
but without the odour.............
Gels are odour free, but produce more dust , on product rebalance and filing....
Strength wise, they are now with proper application just as fab as L&P......
Look at Anna from Torontos work..................
Instant polymerisation once UV curing time has finished.......
But higher on the list of the sensitivity ladder.
L&P is the most popular Enhancement application,
known for it's strength, versatility and durability and now thanks to new product development much thinner and flexible then in years gone by...........Lower chance of sensitivity then Gel.........Filing dust on rebalance........more techs are becoming sensitised to L&P, due to NOT SMART working...............
Soak off time 20-30 Minutes in warm acetone.......
Fully polymerises after 24-48 hours.......Solar oil will help to speed this up, as it blocks out the air.............
So clients will have to be a bit more carefull, with their enhancements for the next day......Micro shattering a possibility...........

Also the Clients lifestyle is taking into account, no matter which product you choose to use........
Nail length, clients activities determine this............
Going from no nails to new nails...........
medium length for me is Fibreglass
shorter length could be Fibreglass and Gel
normal to longer length could be L&P
Condition of the natural nail.........
A very thin nail, would be better of with a Fibreglass/Fabric# wrap then a L&P one........
I have found Fibreglas works brill on Drill damaged /MMA nails.....
L&P systems like R+ loves Keratin, on a thin nail less perfect canvass, less perfect results.........The thinner the nail, the more flexible and movable it will be under the L&P...........and it might not be able to support the L&P or Gel
But each Tech has also their own system preference, and this can influence client advice............It shouldn't but it happens!!!!!!!!!
Which look do they prefere...........
Some dont want to have enhancement look..............
Some do want the I am wearing Nails look...........
Some want funky glitters
Some dont
Some only have had ever one sytem and don't want to change as they like X system..............
Some clients have problems with X system and then can be moved to another system......................
Some don't care and will have anything.......
Just some pointers from my expirience side of things............
Others may and prob. will have different views and more info...............
But hope this helps a little
