Quick one-primers?

I need to practise my acrylics at home. I'm doing a friends nails. They are happy with anything.
I've just seen that my primer pen is completely dried out! Can I revitalise it with water maybe?
Alternatively I have some SensatioNail gel primer I could use. Would that even work?
I'll buy some new proper primer when the shops open Tuesday but need something for now!
