Really low split on nail

I did Brisa Lite smoothing gel and Shellac on a client a few days ago, when I removed the last lot she had a small split half way down the nail, I took the nail right down and gently buffed the rough bit down. It felt flat. I thought the Brisa would hold it down and it felt fine when I had finished the Shellac, but she text today to say she keeps getting hair caught in it, she's a hairdresser.
Any advice on what to do ?
I only offer the smoothing gel and Shellac and manicures, I have never come across a split this low down in my 12 years of being a therapist.
