Hi there. I only offer spray tanning and I am going to work mobile but I work part time in my day job and I have Monday available through the week and could do Saturday. I could also do a couple of evenings. Do you think a)it would be worth renting a room for such a short period of time from the salon owners point of view and b) would it be worth it from my point of view c) how much do rooms usually cost to rent in such places?. I live in the Chester le Street area. Or should I just stick to mobile?

i'm doing my spray tanning training in next few weeks, was supposed to be this week but i had to cancel and i have done my lash extension training. i too was thinking about looking around for a room (kinda going off the being mobile idea :\) so i'd be very interested in what advice people have to offer! x

If I decided to take room I could be flexible depending on where it is. I work in Gateshead but live in Chester le Street and I work flexi hours so I could finish my proper job early one day if I had a few clients and make up the hours the next. It would just mean that I couldnt take passing trade, but there again, you cant really do passing trade when it comes to spray tans as you need to have your body prepared.

I don't think it would be fair on a landlord to rent a room out to someone who would only be in part time because A) they will only be able to charge you half the rent , or B) you wouldn't be able to afford full rent on only half time, and C) you will find annoyed clients if some one is only there a copple of times a week.
But
What you could do is look for a local tech who has a room and wants to share ? You can work out between you who dose what days ect and just pay the room rent by the day 's that your in,
I had to go part time for family reasons but I did not want to give up my place so I got another nail tech to come in part time to ,
As long as your both clear on ground rules like joint bills, phone,ad's, tea coffee , couch roll ect or any materials you buy together and share , if you decided to do that, then just be clear from the start about who pays what,
