Hello I am unsure whether I can have a treatment room in my home as i rent my property does anyone know if it is ok?

You need to check your lease, or with your landlord as some rented properties don't allow people to run businesses from them.

Ask your landlord or managing agent hun, depending on what type of property it is it will either be at his discretion or a complete no-no. For example if you live in a flat there may be a clause in his lease saying a nobody can run a business from their home or he might have to check with his mortgage company. If he agrees try and get some sort of contract drawn up that states he gives you permission to run the business from your home, as this wont be in your current tenancy agreement. He is also within his rights to ask you for a higher deposit, due to a higher chance of wear and tear on the property. Good luck x x

If its through a lettings agent then most of them state in the contract that you can't operate a business from home.

Our contract said we couldn't but when I called them and gave them some details they said it wasn't a problem.

I think this was more to do with the fact that they knew I would only be working part time and I had established clientele. If think they would have said no if id been planning on working all day everyday.
