Hi

May be a daft question but can you advise me what would happen if you re-sprayed someone just after they have been sprayed.

Scenario being, if I had sprayed someone with an 8% and they called the next day to say that they wanted to be darker - would respraying them with 8% make them any darker or just the same? Or, would I need to respray with a 10%. By respraying with the 10% (with the 8% already on), would they come out the same colour as if I had sprayed the 10% inititially?

Hope this makes sense? :rolleyes:

mmmm good question,,, anyone???:confused::confused:

I dont know anything about the 10 and 8 as we dont use that system in Australia but if you respray them a day later with the same tan it should be very similar to a double coat ie a bit darker, more intense colour. If you spray them with a darker tan they will look darker. I would do a light coat of the darker tan as they want to go darker and recomend the darker tan for next time.

I think for some people their skin can't take too much DHA, so sometimes respraying the next day helps them to get a darker tan rather than using a higher DHA as they could run the risk of going a bit orange.
I haven't tried it myself so don't know for certain, but I always thought that if you were to spray again the next day you would go darker.

Would you re-spray before shower, ie before washing prev guide colour off or after, I might give this a go at the weekend :)

Just remembered I did do it once, the client was sprayed the night before, but complained she wasn't dark enough when she washed it off, so she came back that evening (24hrs later) and I resprayed her and it was definately darker the next day.
Yes you would wash the initial tan off first xx

Did you respray her with the same % tan solution?

Yes, exact same sloution. It was already the darkest one x

there is no problem spray tanning someone twice..in fact this method is taught by some companies..all be it immediately in succession and the tan will develop a little darker...obviously not twice as dark but somewhat darker simply because more DHA is being applied and that possible areas that were missed first time round will get coverage

Wouldn't recommend this be done as an ongoing method however in cases such as this then its fine
HTH :hug:

yes if you spray with the same solution it would go darker the second time just remember it is more difficult to see where you have sprayed the second time some of mine who come every week don't always get it all off. It does go quite a bit darker tho

I agree with the others. If I'm applying a topup tan I use the same % DHA and it always goes darker. You really only need a very very light application though! Not even half the amount you would have sprayed the first application! hth!
