Hi all,

Firstly sorry mods if this is in the wrong place~

Anyways, I was wondering has anyone any advice on returning products (unused unopened) to your suppliers. I have decided to phase a supplier out (for many reasons!) and only recently made an order for 500 pounds! I want to send it back, can I? They say I cant but I know sometimes they say that and we acept because we dont know the rules as such,

thanks for your help,

Becki xxx

I think it depends on the company but most of them in their terms & conditions state that 'goods are not sold on a sale or return basis' ie if you've already ordered and had delivery then you have to keep them.

Maybe you can plead your case with them & appeal to their better nature (if they have one:)).

so ''sale and return no allowed'' is actually true - not just something they say?! damn it! I havent paid for it yet though...

thanks becki xxx

You could always try pleading poverty if you haven't already paid for the order.

You'd probably pay an admin fee & return carriage but still way cheaper than £500.

lol, tell me about! thanks for your help anyways...the story is to be continued I suppose!

Or, perhaps other geeks could PM you to see what product range you want to get shot of. Your website states which product ranges you use so perhaps any interested parties will be in touch :)

i suppose that you might have some leverage with them as you have not yet paid for it. but the fact is that you dont actually have a right to return it unless it is faulty in some way. you are relying purely on the suppliers good will in these circumstances.

it seems they dont have any goodwill anyways :(

Guy's you must reolise that if an enduser buy's something from the high street or internet, mail order etc they generally speaking have rights to return goods for either money back or credit...of course subject to goods being in origional box etc...

You however are not protected as you'r a trade buyer.....a supplier has no obligation to refund against goods incorectly ordered etc...

Always check before or when you are buying - terms of trading normally are stated on invoices.

Most companies do of course have a good will factor and most will either exchange goods or apply a small charge for customers who will be regular etc.

I dont know anything about your supplier however to a degree can understand their reaction if you have told them you wish to return their goods as your no longer willing to use it....

If they won't assist you with the return then maybe best to try and sell the stuff off to someone who is keen on using it.
hoping this helps...maybe not right now but something for the future:hug:

hey

thanks for your comments collin obviously I see your point of view. There are no others salons in my area that stock the products and in my opinon would they not rather take back their professional products than me try and sell them on?
