Russian lashes - first set/isolation

I’ve just completed a Russian Lash course. This is my first set of lashes and just wondered if you could tell me what you think? I find making the fan and picking up fine. Just struggled with isolation, this client had a lot of lashes naturally and I just found it so hard to get each and every individual lash. She ha slashes behind lashes and found it hard to see them.
Any advice would be great.
