I think the devil is in the detail.
Your boss has been telling you are 'self employed' , therefore not paying you holiday pay, employers NI, sick pay and denying your employed persons rights. What they have been doing is treating you as an employed person by paying you an hourly rate and dictating your hours and considering your clients as theirs. They have been acting illegally.
I would just give them a weeks notice and if they aren't happy say you will call and clarify things with the inland revenue to see if you are self employed or employed..that should put the wind up them !
