Firstly I love the Shellac. Received mine yesterday and had a little play with it. I noticed a couple of dimples in the white part of my french. Also if I press hard into it with my nail it will leave a slight indentation which pops up again after a few seconds. Does this mean it hasn't cured properly? If so should I take it off and start again? I don't want to get overexposure.

Oops just read the french manicure post so my question about the dimples is answered. But still wondering if I should remove and start again, i.e. undercured?

Problems such as dimples or wrinkling are solely due to applying Shellac too thick. THIN to WIN is the rule with both Shellac & Colour & Effects. The biggest mistake I see when techs apply any kind of polish is that they apply it way thicker than they should. Learn to apply quickly and thinly and trpubles will cease.

You do not need to remove what you have done unless you want the practise.

Shellac is soo forgiving and mistakes are easily rectified...(avoided in the first place is best of course..) What i have found is that the topgloss is your saviour...it smooths this wrinkles/dimples right out.

I wiped my fedora after the second coat thinking i have put the topgloss on...when they went dull i realised my mistake...i just painted the topgloss on anyway and they were perfect. Usually the rule with "gel" is that you would have to re buff the nail to a 180/240 finish before being able to re-apply but with Shellac you can just go right ahead.
