I use shellac polish and love it. But I was speaking to another nail tech and they said they use gellish top coat instead of shellac as it is cheaper and gives a longer lasting shine!
Does anyone else do this?

No. There are several posts about mixing systems. You would have to check if you're insurance was valid.

The whole point to me of shellac is that it is hypoallergenic, so common allergens are removed. Why would you mix systems - if a client had a reaction you wouldn't know what it was to.

If you are happy with shellac, I'd use shellac and if not look at alternatives, but I wouldn't mix systems at all.

Thanks for your reply. I agree that is just wrong!! When I got trained we were told not to mix. And I love shellac , it's so easy to remove. But I had to ask!!!
