Show off your pointy nails!

I've never had a request for anything other than a square, squoval or rounded nail 😞
I really like the pointy look just now and would like to see pics of any that you have done. I find the nail plate always looks really big and wide on them (like the pic I've attached below) is it an optical illusion because the tip is pointed do you think?

Im really loving the pointy nails right now too! Lovely photo! This is a photo of nails I did on my friend for her holiday to Ibiza, they were originally pointed but she was afraid she would hurt someone haha so I had to round them off a bit.

I've had pointy nails for many years now, long befit they were a trend! I remember all my friends and clients hating the shape! Yet now almost all my clients have reformed!

The longer the nail the more elongated and slender it looks. The shorter it is the more wide the nail plate looks.

Eg of my client-



She has to have them short! So I need to try keep the nail bed in proportion to how I slender I can make my tip.

This may seem like a daft question but see the all white nails in the original post. Would it be the white acrylic u use for doing your white tip that u use or is it another white acrylic or polish. Thanks xxxx

Clear Tip and gel overlay with UV gel polish over the top 😊

So I guess you have to cut the tip pretty long so you have the length to file into for the point?

I don't use tips, I sculpt using a form which is so much easier! But if I were using a tip I would definitely leave it longer and give myself more room for shaping.

Practise using forms though, you'll be surprised how much better they are to use

As I mentioned above- use a form not a tip. X keep it slender, pinch it, and keep the apex strong.

Here's some I did on myself - I sculpt too, much easier than shaping tips. (There was a reason for the Babymetal kitsune hand gesture btw! )

I've never done the really pointy ones, most clients have been persuaded to re almond look!
I absolutely love them!
