Hi thanks :) 8/9/10/11 c curl. Yes I've used a feathering technique to create a bit of volume. The lashes look longer than an 11 admittedly - think it's the angel x

2 hours and I could of gone on! Lol xx

Up close and personal. Would still like to get a little closer to the lashline and tidy those inner corners #practicemakesperfect x

Back when I first started I'd go through times of feeling confident and then feeling completely rubbish. Keep going and trying your hardest and eventually you will have built up your skills with little techniques to make sure you can handle any clients lashes (well, most lol) . You will do someone's lashes and think, woah that was difficult, and then lash them a couple of months later and wonder what the problem was.

Some people have difficult face shapes to lash. Their lashes seem to disappear into oblivion or their cheeks seem to push the lashes into awkward positions. Again just keep trying various ways (I'm sorry that's a little vague but it's things like getting the right lash pads or positioning yourself/your hands in the right place).

As far as seeing the lashes id definitely recommend a height adjustable stool, do you have your clients lying down?

Finally, make sure you've got a night background behind the lashes (gel pad)

I hope some of that actually helped! x

Thank you for your reply! I have now got a different stool. Did my first set the other day. It took me 3 hours but I got there in the end! I found placing the gel pads difficult and the lashes at the correct angle for me to see and grab easily on my hand. Anyway these are what I did... ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1415431674.773883.jpg

Let me know what you all think x

About my 10th Volume set. Creating the fans are getting a tiny bit easier every time. Just want to concentrate on applying them dead straight now; some kind of go in a mad direction once the clients eyes have opened. X

Third set. I have my assessment on the 20th but am struggling to put the gel patches on. Any tips? ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1415572682.216907.jpg

Some lovely lashes coming into this year's competition, over 200 entries so far into the world volume lash master and world individual lash master categories. It's going to be a difficult job choosing the shortlist for the final

My trainer said I should do this (especially for the inner corners which she said need to look a bit softer) as long as they aren't too far off from each other like a B & C or a C & D.
Thanks though! :)

I mix curls on most of my sets to create texture and volume. Sometimes graduating from one curl in one section to another curl in a different section. Or often using different curls in the same area.

These lashes look great Jane x

Yes that's what I was told to do too :) and thank you so much! Just gotta keep practising. X

You are absolutely right, of course you can mix curls. Sometimes you may need to as a corrective measure. Natural eyelashes do not all have the same amount of curl across the eye. B and C mix beautifully for a faux volume effect on strong straight lashes but you do need experience to know when it will work. It's difficult to imagine where you could use Js and Ds or Bs and Ls together. The ability to create a lash design that really delights your client may depend on occasionally breaking the design rules. That's what makes a great lash artist.
