Hi
I have a client that’s been on Lymecycline on and off for years.
This client also has an aspirin & aloe allergy.
The client has frequent acne breakouts & scarring.
Any advise to what would be the best facial treatment to recommend.
We have tried Dermalogica,Vegan & natural skincare ranges.
The client would like to try dermaplaning/peels/or microneedling but is Contra-indicated.
Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Led light facials xx

I would second the LED light therapy first to try and calm everything down then move on to a more results driven plan once their active acne has improved. I’ve had a few clients have great results with LED followed by Environ facials and a consistent at home routine. [emoji4] I’m not a nutritionist or trained to give diet advice however I have found clients that consider some diet changes and keeping hydrated enough have also had really good results alongside their facial treatments and products. Lymecycline needs to be taken continuously but it only works if the bacteria it's treating is activated and it's causing the acne (we all have it, forget the name, but if it's active it causes certain acnes, in everyone else it doesn't cause any trouble). If it's not that bacteria it won't do anything to help.

BUT dont let her underestimate her doctor. I tried so many medications and the right one was Lyme for me after 15 years. But if you don't make it clear you are ready for extreme measures they won't try the last 4 resorts before roaccutane.

6 weekly facials and nightly skincare regime has to be in combination.

It's the lucky triangle of acne

Also very easy to want to be conscious and extreme treatments and scrub it all away - usually the worst thing to do. Exfoliation should be at a minimum, still needs doing but even once every two weeks to a month is better than weekly. It's counterintuitive but it does need to be done.

The catch 22s of skincare eh. Ugh.

So glad my skin is clear these days!
