Hi Guys,

Have been looking at distance learning spa management courses, do you think its worth it?

Well I suppose it depends on what you want to do career wise ?

If you want to go into spa management the I would personally say a distance learning course is not the way to go, reason being a college near me does a 2 year full time spa management course with practical and theory so my guess would be any potential employer is going to choose the hands on course rather than a home learn one.

Spa management is actually quite hard to get into and most spa managers I know worked there way up through the ranks and have years of experience.

Im at uni doing Spa Management, I love it and definitely couldnt do it distance learning. xx

Unfortunately i work full time and do beauty therapy part time and have a mortage so uni or course full time is simply not an option.

Distance and part time learning is the only way a courses can be done.

I have doe most of my post college learning over the last 10 years this way and always found it reputable and recogonised qulifications that were achieved and available. I am aware there are some dodgy ones out there.

I was just wondering if it was a worthwhile course really for the extra learnings of running it business wise or if experience was better

Do you want to work in spa management ? As in manage a spa ? If so then I would say would need spa experience and ideally this course via uni.

If you just want to do to help your own business, then I would see no relevance doing it as spas are completley different to home, high street businesses you'd be better off just doing a marketing course imo.
