I started my own beauty room a couple of months ago. I'm looking into doing spray tans. The only problem is the room isn't high enough to fit a booth in plus there's no windows for ventilation. Any ideas of how i could do tanning any other way? Do many people do tanning thats applied by hand?

Thanks

I recently trained in st tropez and i really do prefer it to the spray tanning. Its much more of a 'treatment'. You have a full body exfoliation and then the lotion is applied, its a very nice treatment. the sprays are good in that they are quick and you can get more clients in but the rrp for st tropez is £40 (treatment normally lasts an hour). Its got the reputation so im hoping it does quite well. I have been sprayed with sienna x, vani-t and solglo and have found the st tropez creame application the best, no streaks, fades evenly and doesnt have the typical fake tan smell.

I've trained in St Tropez spray tan and loved it. But not done any training in the lotion application. Where did you do your training, if you don't mind me asking? is it expensive to get the products, training, etc? thanks!

A lady from st tropez came into the local college last week. i will PM you her details when i get home as i think they can do 1-2-1 training. The minimum order is about £460 but theywere offering the students a start up order of 160. Of course you could always buy these on the high st but if you buy direct you can buy the professional sizes which are much better value for money.

I use Fake Bake and do both spray tanning and cream tan.
If I'm truly honest I prefer the cream one. It's a lovely treatment; far more luxurious and pampering, and the end result is, I think, better than the spray tan.
My spray tan clients tend to be younger women who just want a tan for the night, rather than a full body treatment.

I spray by hand, I think in a lot of ways spray tanning by a technician is better. It's fully customizable. Since space is an issue, you can use a pop up tent and extraction fan. I got mine from EnvyTan. Hope this helps!

hi. my spray tan room is tiny and doesnt have a window but the large extraction fan you can get works very well to clear the air.i couldnt even fit a pop up tent in the room as well as me but my ladies say its much nicer than standing in a tent and much brighter too so i can see exactly what im doing.

another idea that a local salon here does is, they have a big black rectangle shape painted on to the wall. The get you to stand up in-front of it so there is no staining to the wall and any over spray is caught by an extractor fan! good luck and i hths
