I hope someone can help, i have just spray tanned a lady with very dry knee's i put on some smoothing spray but her knee's still went darker than the rest of her, help what can i do, what will help for the next time see comes..:D

the most she can do now is exfoliate if, after she lets the rest sit for the recommended period before showering, if it still is darker than the rest.
The next time she may need a thicker barrier between her drier skin and the tanner, like a lotion not rubbed in, the spray penetrates easier and probably didn't hold enough of the colour off the surface allowing it still to penetrate.

and the next time you need to really stress the importance of her exfoliating and moisturising her knees more regularly in between tans. Then, when you are spraying her, pull that gun back when you approach the knee. not too much try 10-15 cm . I have horrible knees they are so dry and scaly , they always grab the spray..... but if you both work together things will improve!

I agree with whats already been said...its so important to educate customers to prep well before a spray tan...especially if they have excessive dry skin areas.

One option is to keep a tub of buff wipes,or similar to hand ,which is great for removing dry dead skin before applying a spray tan.

It's also important to point out potential problems a customer may have with a spray tan outcome if they haven't prepared properly before hand....in sever cases its also wise to refuse to apply until they have done the prep properly...might sound odd but your customers, once they get the jist, may well appreciate your advice much more rather than being in a situation where maybe you have undertaken the task reluctantly and they complain about problems with their tan
