Hello, Could you please tell me what I need apart from basic mani/pedi set up what nail colours I should start off with and is there anything else I need?

I am planning on going mobile/renting a room and specialising in Mani/Pedi and facials.

Do you think I could use skintruth as this is what I am training in or should I buy another product range?

Many thanks,
Louise.

First and foremost you need to do your research locally. If you are just going to specialise in Manis and Pedis and facials then you need to get them all spot on!

Who did you do your training with for the Manis and Pedis?
Have you got your insurance sorted out?

If you are training with Skintruth, then surely you should be using their products?! Ive never heard of them, but then Im not a Skin Geek!

Regarding enamel colours, I would go with a natural white, bright white, beige and pink for a french. Red, brown, burgandy, black, pink, subtle glitter, then youve kind of got everyone covered!

My friend is a mobile tech and she uses Skin truth.

I think what is important is that your range MATCHES. I hate to see salons using different ranges, and even seen hand-written labels on some pots.

I've been looking at the Thai range but they don't have an antibacterial spray.

Heel to toe looks OK.
Gena is a nice range.

Then you've got OPI which is expensive.

What nail varnishes do you use?

I trained with OPI for Manicure's and I'm training at Sally's for pedicures using Salon System and then I was going to use the OPI pedicure range. I was thinking of using Creative for mani/pedi but would I need to train again?

Skintruth is a range that can be purchased from Sallys.

Many thanks,
Louise

sorry Beaute, was only replying about the mani/pedi question.

I think you will have to shop around for facial range. Skintruth is really quite basic and cheap looking.
It depends what you what image you wish to portray also, is it organic, natural, high performance, anti-ageing, aromatherapy based????

At the moment I am using OPI for manicures-only because I trained with them. Most salons near me use OPI and its widely available. The Thai range by salon system I am really interested in, but don't know much about it.

Could you please tell me a little more on Heel to Toe?

I've used Gena on myself and it is nice.

The image I am trying to portray is classy, sophisticated etc.

I have looked at the skintruth packaging and it doesn't look much. I like the sound of Eve Taylor but don't know what other brands there are. Is there any advice you could give?

why not pop into the chatroom for a quick chat. Say 3pm?

Hi Hun,
I use the SpaRitual range for manis & pedis, all from NSI. I also use the SpaRitual nail polishes. It looks so much more professional if it is a whole complimenting range. You do need a good range of colours in your polishes, some pale, perlised, med colours, and some dark vibrant shades. You can always ask if you are going mobile what colours they prefer when they make the phone call, and take a few polishes that seem right to you. Then you can leave the rest in the car. I have learn't the hard way dragging all my products in, my polishes are in a separate case, I have about 60 colours.......only to find they want me to use the polish they have bought, I only needed a base and top coat from my box!!!! Can't help with facials though. Good luck and enjoy lotsa luv x

Id say give Sweet Squared a ring on 0845 210 6060. I know when I did my Spa day, I did Manicure and Pedicure, basically my educator showed me how to use all the Spa products, and how to use them to their full potential, gave me ideas etc.
Plus You pay for the products and get the training FREE!!

They are out of this world, smell divine and really are luxurious!

Give them a ring hun! xxxx:hug:

Hello
I use Jean D'Arcel/Salon systems for manis and pedis.
I use Mary Kay for facials because I joined the company in June, the products are fab and you can tailor make the facial to the skin. You also get great support from the mary kay company.
I used to use Skintruth for facials but personally i think it looks cheap. Plus some of the fragrances of the products arent nice IMHO
