Hi ladies. I'm just after a bit of advice regarding starting up again after having a long break, I had twin boys in 2012 and have been a full time mum since! We moved a couple of years ago and we've put a big extension on the back of our house which is going to allow us to convert 2 of the rooms giving me a reception and treatment room which we have full change of use planning permission for! It will also have its own access and it's own toilet. I'm very excited, it's what I've always wanted! I was self employed for 8yrs before having my boys so have a bit of an idea of running my own business. I'm not planning to start until September when the boys start full time school but I want to start planning everything now. This time round I want to specialise so I've jumped in and put a deposit down on the Nouveau Alift treatment as I used to do non surgical lifting in a salon I was in prior to going self employed and I loved it. I'm a little nervous about this as my business is not even up and running so I'm effectively in debt before I start!!!! Has anyone else done this?? I'm also really keen to do the lvl lashes by nouveau, but again I'm apprehensive as to how much I spend out before I build up my client base! Or should I be thinking these treatments will help bring in the clients?? I've obviously got other money to outlay, brochures, basic products for treatments which includes waxing, nails, facials, eye treatments, towels etc etc as I sold everything I had when I stopped to have the boys! Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hope your all having a lovely day xxx

Since money isn't unlimited, I would restock my supplies, products and essentials first, as that's a huge outlay.

You've got analysis paralysis! I'd get your treatment list sorted, then buy the products/equipment, then build up your client base and think about adding other treatments last.

Thank you for your replies! I was just looking to specialise in something this time round, something to base myself on! Hence the Alift. There is a lot of competition out there and a big demand for result lead treatments.....I will keep planning and try to keep an open mind

if your doing non surgical face lift and you want to specialise why don't you start researching skin care brands and products? and become a specialist in facials/anti ageing/skin care/skin rejuvenation. if you have a reception area you could always see if it would suit to rent a table to a nail technician for manicures/pedicures with an existing client base, this might help you bring in some clients for yourself. instead of worrying about buying loads of skit for several different treatments that you might not want to go down the route of offering.

Hi, thank you for your reply! I wouldn't want anyone else working from here to start with but maybe in the future that could be an idea. I'm not opposed to doing all the basic beauty treatments I was just hoping not to get stuck in a rutt!!
I've been looking at an organic (reasonably priced) skincare range and thought I could stock some of the dermatude products for clients who want better results from there products or to back up the Alift facial!
