Strengthener Vs. Basecoat?

In my salon we use Seche restore and orly tough cookie nail strengtheners, but the other girls use them under polish with no basecoat. Does the polish adhere to the nail as well that way? Or should these nail strengtheners be used under a base coat?

Most strengtheners will be designed to be used as a basecoat. Always make sure that if using strengtheners that you also encourage your clients to use a good quality cuticle oil too.

If used in the long term, strengtheners with formaldehyde will cause the nails to become brittle as formaldehyde will remove moisture from the nails.
