Hi there, would any of you be able to offer me advice on sugaring..it it popular or do many of you offer it and its it as effective as waxing. Thanks.

I offer sugaring and waxing but sugaring is by far the more popular of the two! I think my clients appreciate that the sugar paste is a more natural product.

Thanks for your reply Heidi:)...Im just doing a bit of research as I havnt come across very many salons offering sugaring !

You are correct in saying that there are not many salons offering sugaring, particularly the traditional method of sugaring.

I do still offer both however, waxing is far more popular than sugaring. Most of my old sugaring clients actually prefer waxing now.

Sugaring vs Waxing is an old debate and one that will continue to go on into the future.

They are both doing the same thing ... ripping the hair out of the body. There is always going to be some pain / discomfort - comes with the territory.

Sugaring fans say it is a lot less painful, waxing fans say waxing is better.

Personally I say it is down to two things - quality of product and skill of the therapist. I had a guy for a Brazilian who wanted sugaring because whenever he'd been waxed it was agony compared to sugaring. Convinced him to give me a try (was even going to offer it for free if it was that painful but didn't need to). He came along and was shocked about how much better it was with non-strip wax! Product and therapist. :)

Hi Joe90 thanks to you too for replying...its good to get opinions from people who use these products. I actually dont think that anyone in my area offers sugaring so Im thinking that waxing must be more popular !

Id have to agree with you Mat regards product and skill and the therapists prefered method. Sounds like your pretty good at the waxing though :)

I do still have my die hard sugaring clients who say that it is less painful for them than waxing. However, as Mat has already said a lot is down to the therapist and how good they are with the "tools of the trade".

I trained with Nagwa as Sukar and if you want to go down the sugaring route would highly recommend her.

I have however tried Zhara sugar paste and I found this a little better to work with than Sukar.

I try now to do as little sugaring as possible due to an arm injury but why not offer both if you can afford to do both courses.

However, what I would maybe train in one, become competent at that and then add the other service at a later date.
