I was just wondering what actually is the 'going rate' for a therapist?

Im going to be employing a young girl (17) who is qualifying in June for Beauty Therapy Level 2. To be fair to her she has got good experience in the salon etc and with clients as she has done placement with me for a long while. But i just wondered what should i be paying her by hour?

She will mainly just be working friday and sat. Mostly doing reception and cleaning ect but obviously building up her client base too.

And opinions would be great
Thanks

Minimum wage is the norm, especially for a therapist who only has level 2

what about an employee with a couple of years experience?

A lot depends on where you are and the local rates. Out of city, I would say anywhere between £7-£8.50 per hour.

You may also consider the lower rate of hourly rate and offer a good commission.
