Hi,

I have some smal thread veins in a cluster on the top of my nose, they have a darker spot in the centre not much bigger than a white head with the veins coming from it. I had one treatment almost a year ago where they used a needle. It scabbed and took almost a week to fall off, but when it did the veins had dissappeared, I was so pleased. Now the veins have returned and look very red and are easily noticed, could someone please advise me on the treatment I need or if there are any creams and products I could use? The treatment I received last year was a little painful but finished in approx one minute.

I would really appreciate any help and advice you could give me as this is really knocking my confidence.

Thanks

HI, you can find a salon that does diathermy cautery, which is basically using the electrolysis machine on a higher setting. Using the very fine needle, the thread vein is touched with the needle and a small current is passed into the vein, heating it up and destroying the blood vessel. Otherwise IPL can be used to treat thread veins. I can recommend a lady who is in Hampshire, I'm actually doing the training myself but not til september! I remember years ago watching one of the therapists have one removed from her face and it went instantly. It was brilliant. Didn't seem to hurt her either cos she just laid there and didn't flinch or anything. Good luck!

spider naevi are easily treated with the advanced cosmetic proceedures or advanced electrolysis, but may need more than one treatment. Try it again and ask if they are using the blend method as it leaves no or very little scabbing, and is a bit more comfortable. IPL I believe requires a few treatments and may work out quite expensive for one spider naevi

Thanks for your help and advice - the treatment I received was Micro Scierotherapy. I have decided to give it another try and maybe have 2 treatments even though it initially went after the first treatment.

Any further advice and thoughts would be appreciated.

I can usually get rid of spider naevi with one treatment, so might be worth a go.
