Hi ladies,

I am new to doing gel nails (about 2 months now) and 4 days ago did a set of gel nails on myself. I did all the correct prep and took my time trying to build a proper apex (thinner in zone 3 and sidewalls and higher in zone 2) and was pleased with the shape as they didn't look like flattened pancakes lol. Today I have noticed on both index fingers tiny black short vertical lines (looks like tiny short black cracks) that start exactly at the smile line and extend for about a few millimeters toward the apex. I am now noticing another mark starting on my thumb. What could these marks be? Does it mean I didn't build the nail strong enough in the stress area? I hope someone can help as I don't want to make this mistake on a client. Thanks!
