My client is having hiligts Saturday and wants a grey toner , I use wella , so need some advise please , having not used toners much and need to know do I apply on wet or dry hair and how long to leave on hair please?

Are you trying to achieve a grey colour or just ashy tones?

9/1 and 0/11 makes a gorgeous grey, depending on what her base colour is?

You'll need to lift her hair to a nice clean base 10 with no warmth in it. You can use colour touch 10/6 with 1.9% to annihilate any gold tones. Do this by eye. Then rinse and dry the hair and mix equal parts 7/89 and 9/16 with 1.9% and apply as a colour and develop for 25mins. This is the recipe wella gave me. It's important to make the base blonde as clean and without gold tones as possible. Obviously the highlighted effect will not give an allover even grey. You may still have alot of warmth depending on how tightly you pack the foils. Also grey fades quickly and you will also want to maintain the integrity of the clients hair.
Hope this helps and good luck xx
