Hi geeks,
I have a but of a dilemma that I wouldn't mind some advice on, if anyone can suggest anything.
I've been a freelance beauty therapist for over 5 years. I have also have a diploma in remedial/sports massage and medical acupuncture. Over the years, I have transitioned from doing alt of shellac, spray tan and lashes, into doing 80% sports massage and 20% lash extensions. I love doing my sports massage, but I also like doing lashes. And I got to the stage where I started to really dislike doing nails and the other beauty treatments I offered, I just don't feel like it's "me" anymore.
Now I want to open up my own clinic, the mobile stuff is driving me insane! I've had advice from various other sources and have been told that "niche" and specialising is the way to go. Which I guess actually makes a lot of sense because when I look at the majority of my clients and their problems that they present with they all tend to fit I'm to a certain "niche". The problem I have is that my eyelash clients and massage clients are completely different kinds of client, of that makes sense...
I would love to open up a place specialising in massage therapy for lower back pain, but I'm just not sure how to go about this, and what do do with my lash clients. I don't want to lose them, but at the same time I can't please everyone.
When it comes to marketing, how can I really market all my massage stuff but then also lashes, when they are separate client groups? I'm not sure if I should drop the lashes and beauty all together.... I'm just not sure what to do really!
Has anyone else had this kind of issue? I'd be interested to hear what you ended up doing? X
