Having completed my training and just about to qualify in SVQ level 3, I can't help but wonder how long other folk take to complete a full body swedish massage or full body aroma??

At college we are given 1 hour, but this is to include the consultation, treatment delivery and aftercare advise, as well as allow the client to undress/dress and also change the bed ready for the next!

I regulary run over time, as I feel I am rushing through the treatment otherwise and feel that the client is not getting value for money.

How long should the actual delivery of a full body massage take and how much time do you set aside for such treatments?

I'm hoping to open a small salon shortly and want to get this right!

My full body swedish massage is an hour with extra time added for consultation, client changing and then aftercare advice.

If I am doing aromatherapy massage same time applies but if I include the face it is 1 hour 15 minutes.

I personally think it is unfair to the paying client who is being charged for a full hour's treatment to be short changed because a salon is trying to cram in as many treatments as possible. I know that salons have to make money but surely not at the expense of the client experience.

HTH.
