Using Jamberry wraps with gel

A friend of mine had asked me to try out some of her jamberry nail wraps. I want to use the sandwiched between gel. I'm just wondering what's the best way to do it as they have a shiny surface so do I need to lightly buff the wrap so that the gel will stick on top??
